20 YEARS OF THE CONTACT LENS SOCIETY OF SERBIA

On May 17, 2025, a national Symposium with international participation was held in Belgrade to mark the 20th anniversary of the Contact Lens Society of Serbia.

Prim. Dr. Sima Marjanović, the first president of the Society, reflected on the founding and the early years of operation. Gratitude was expressed to the ophthalmologists who contributed to the development of contactology in Serbia, and letters of appreciation were presented to the founders for their professional dedication.

Distinguished local lecturers delivered a series of professional and engaging presentations. Special thanks were extended to the international lecturers from ECLSO, whose presence confirmed the Society’s strong international ties—COLSS is a proud member of ECLSO.

The gathering brought together 210 ophthalmologists as well as numerous industry representatives and contact lens distributors, to whom we owe our gratitude for their support. An interesting and comprehensive program contributed to a warm and inspiring atmosphere, piqued interest in the Society’s work, and resulted in a significant number of new members. The event was a valuable exchange of knowledge and experience, as well as a dignified celebration of an important jubilee for the contactology community in Serbia.
